The existing house on this site was hugely neglected and dated. Our clients wanted to bring this neglected house back to life and extend the property to create a large open-plan kitchen, dining and family space, replacing the existing living area and garage. There was also a requirement for a ground floor playroom, guest bedroom with en-suite and good size utility & plant room.

The final design had four large bedrooms with two en-suites and one family bathroom on the first floor, an open plan kitchen/dining/ family area on the ground floor, and one guest bedroom and two bay integral garage. A new light-coloured render finish, new dark-coloured fenestrations and new dark grey roof tiles give a modern look. The timber cladding was introduced to add a central feature to the rear elevation.

The internal space is flooded with light from large sliding doors, and the open plan kitchen, dining and family area become one room where all activities of this busy family space rotate around.
