Our clients wanted to extend to the side of the property to form a self-contained annexe for one of their parents.

The design solution was a single-storey side extension on the western elevation to provide annexe-style accommodation but with a study in the roof space accessed by the existing landing of the main house. The design also wraps slightly to the rear elevation to provide door access to the rear garden.

The design approach was to balance both form and function. The design met all the requirements, and the extension was subservient to the main dwelling.
