Our clients wanted to extend their home to the rear for the entire full width and alter the internal layout of the existing house to create more open-plan living and a more functional space.

The design proposal was a single-storey flat roof extension with a flat fixed roof light. Instead of a straight wall, we went for an oblique wall, adding interest and contemporary elements to the rear. The new living area was provided with large sliding doors, which bring the inside out and connect the home to the garden. The existing wall between the living and dining rooms was demolished, and the existing bi-folding door from the living room was removed. As a result, the open-plan living space was created. Our simple design solution managed to create the open plan and functional living space the client wanted to achieve.
