The proposal brief was to construct a light industrial unit on the former Barsby Produce site, Coburg Street, King’s Lynn. The proposal was to demolish the existing building and construct a new unit with a use class of B1C. A tenant for the completed unit had already been agreed upon before planning, and our design had to incorporate the tenant’s corporate colour of red.

Our approach was to have a new unit in composite roof panels with a trapezoidal profile in dark grey. The wall panels were to be prefabricated metal composite panels with a dark grey colour and a micro-rib profile. All windows and doors were to be white double-glazed UPVC. Exposed flashing to eaves and around window and door heads were to be red-coloured polyester. All metal rainwater gutters, downpipes and roller shutter doors were proposed in red.
